Puppy

Training

Puppies need essential life skills and boundaries to be happy, emotionally resilient and stay safe in our busy world.

Puppy Training

You've welcomed a new puppy home and want to get things off on the right paw so you can enjoy your new life together. I have worked with puppies since 2016 so know about all the challenges that can crop up - prevention is better than cure.

Is your puppy’s incessant nipping, barking and chewing causing you pain?

Are you at a loss of what to do to help them stop and find out what need they are trying to meet?

Have you rafted through the plethora of advice on the internet, read books, got advice from friends, family and forums and is nothing working – making you feel even more confused? Move away from overwhelm and towards clarity.

Do you want to make sure you’re doing the right thing so you’re not exchanging one behavioural challenge for another or creating BIGGER problems?

You want to make sure the training techniques you use mean your puppy is happy, comfortable and learns how to stop this behaviour and is getting all their needs met.

Avoid these mistakes with your puppy - trust me I'm a behaviourist - grab the guide now so you hopefully won't need me later on!

Welcoming a new family member home is exciting but can also feel daunting and overwhelming.

I can help you get to the root of the challenge and provide practical and pragmatic information that actually works, without the jargon!

I can help with common issues and help prevent them from escalating too.

  • Nipping and grabbing
  • Inability to settle
  • Sleep guidance
  • Pulling on the lead
  • Not coming when called
  • Chewing and digging items you don't want them to
  • Grabbing clothes and ripping them
  • Jumping up
  • Frustration tolerance
  • Socailisation and habituation
  • Information on spaying and neutering
  • Advice regarding phantom pregnancies

Why work with me?

I studied at  the prestgious University of Edinburgh Royal (Dick) School of Vet Studies  and study for hundreds of hours so that I can provide the best service to you and your dog. The course costs thousands of pounds.

I have worked and shadowed certified clinical animal behaviourists.

The training and behaviour industry is unregulated, and a wild wild west out there meaning ANYONE can buy a £10 groupon course and call themselves a behaviourist. This can mean outdated methods are used, timing is wrong during training and you train the wrong thing, or trainers scare your puppy mentally or even physically if certain equipment is used. If you don't want to work with me for whatever reason, I can recommend other suitably qualified trainers.

Further one off sessions can be booked in addition to the above for £90 per hour.

Who is this for?

For people who want to use modern kind techniques.

Who want to gain an understanding of their dogs behaviour and needs and the reason why they are behaving this way.

Who is this not for?

If you don't feel that you can commit to some time training your dog out of the sessions this is not for you.

We recently completed group puppy training as well as one on one sessions at home. Lisa was fantastic - not only was she a fabulous and knowledgeable trainer in the sessions, but her support and feedback after each session was also really helpful.
Highly recommended.
