Choosing a dog to join your family

Are you considering welcoming a dog into your heart and home?  I can help you choose the right breed for you family.

There are a wealth of considerations and things to do before they arrive home. I can guide you through step by step so you set off on the right start.

The right companion for you and your family

If you are thinking about welcoming a dog into your heart and home Lisa can help you every step of the way.  There are a lot of considerations such as the breed that may be the right fit for you and your family and if you can meet their breed specific needs.

Sadly, many dogs end up in rescue shelters, not because they are naughty dogs but because their behaviour does not fit with what a family can offer.

There can be so many things to think about from whether the breeder is ethical, the health challenges certain breeds can have, what breed to choose. You want the best for your new family member.

It can be an exciting time and you're doing your best to get it right. If you'd like support, Lisa can help provide you with all the information you will need so you have clarity and the nerves turn to excited jitters instead!

There is a lot of equipment on the market and it can be hard to choose the right items to purchase. There is also a lot of advice on the internet from so called ‘behavourists and trainers’ that is outdated, dangerous, comprimises welfare and can affect the bond you have with your dog negatively. The training and behaviour industry, currently is a a bit of a free for all meaning that someone can do a £10 groupon course and call themselves a dog trainer or behaviourist.

I will provide you with the knowledge that you need to make sure your puppy is happy, safe and can learn. We use techniques that kind and are rooted in science.
