Reactivity - The 6 week helping hands programme

Making dog walks enjoyable again

Help and support

Hello, are you seeking a solution to help your dog overcome reactivity issues to other dogs? Does your dog bark and lunge at other dogs leading to other dog owners holding their dogs lead tightly and telling you to "get your dog under control. Do you find walks are more like a video game where you are looking out for triggers rather than an enjoyable peaceful walk? Does the news fill you with dread every time there is a new dog attack? Do you feel overwhelmed and conflicted by all the advice on the internet and do you not know where to start? I can help.

I’ve know what it is like to be the other end of the leash of a dog who is feeling scared and nervous and lunges and barks to tell other dogs to “go away!”

If you’d like help to overcome this, then I am starting a online course in March 2024. It will help you feel less overwhelmed, stressed and find walks enjoyable again.

Overcoming obstacles

The biggest challenge can be to know what to do to prevent this behaviour from happening. There is so much conflicting advice out there. That’s where I can help. I have studied clinical animal behaviour at university and have worked with many dogs who have reactivity. They are not bad dogs. They are just shouting so they are heard. It makes me sad to think of all the dogs and owners who are stressed and scared on walks.

That’s why I created this course.

Our Virtual Reactivity Dog Programme is here to provide you with tools, guidance, and community support. Since Covid, which changed the way we have worked, I have helped countless dog s around the country.

The group is small – only 8 members and their dogs.

It offers help to any breed of dog. It can be hard when you can’t see the wood for the trees.

A journey for you and your dog

After we have spoken on the phone and deciphered what your dogs triggers are then we create a plan for your individual dog.

The course is in bite sized chunks to avoid stress and overwhelm so both you and your dog are set up for success.

As the group class is small I can provide you with individual attention about your dog.

I’m here for you through the up’s and downs.

Who is this for?

  • This is for people who want walks that do not feel like a video game where you are dodging triggers and hiding behind cars.
  • This is for people who want to form connection and not use correction with their dogs
  • For people who want to enjoy walks with the dogs again

Who is this not for?

  • This is not for dogs who have bitten. We can offer our behavioural support services.
  • This is not for people who want to use physical punishment.
  • This is not for people who want a quick - fix.

We begin on Wednesday 13th March 2024

This is what happens every other week

We meet online in a private group for one hour. For the first session we meet 13th March 7pm BST for group chat where you can ask me anything. I’ll speak about specific topics such as lead techniques, body language guidance and training skills. Topics include what to do if your dog is barking and lunging and getting overwhelmed. You’ll learn from me and the community. We can share where we are in our dog’s journey and the successes and challenges. You’re not alone and others experience this too.

Every week you send me diaries after a walk so I can monitor progress and I’ll give you feedback. This is why this is a small group so I can support you. Accountability will help you get results.

The course includes:

🐾Equipment advice
🐾Neuroscience Information and body language guidance
🐾Diaries and downloads
🐾Training skills that are outlined step by step
🐾Wellbeing advice for you.
🐾3 x 60 minute group online meetings with me to track progress.
🐾 An online platform that has different modules to work from

How do I book?

Well, I want this to be the right course for you and your dog so lets book a chat to talk. It’s always good to talk things through. If after the chat you’re happy and the vet check has taken place and said we can commence we are good to go!
